Sauveterre is Les Sables d’Olonne’s main beach in terms of visitor numbers. Nestling in the heart of a national forest, it has retained a wild aspect much appreciated by holidaymakers. Beautifully bordered by dunes, it is accessible by both road and cycle path.
A well-known spot for surfers in the Vendée, it offers the chance to try out the sport thanks to its lovely intermediate-sized waves.

Dogs are welcome, on a leash, and there’s an inviting guinguette for refreshments. Parking is free, even in high season.
The supervised swimming area is very popular in summer. The more remote areas are unsupervised and therefore off-limits to bathers, but are ideal for family walks and games. There’s also a naturist area less than a kilometer from the lifeguard station.
La Grande plage
The Grande plage in Les Sables d’Olonne is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the region, and in Europe. Facing south, its scenery and sea spray are marvellous. The light is particularly beautiful at any time of day, in any season.

All water and beach sports are permitted here, including surfing! The largest beach in the resort, it is located along the Remblai, and measures almost 1.5 kilometers. Its size means there’s room for everyone, even in summer, and there are clubs for children, with plenty of activities for all ages.
Le Remblai offers a lovely seafront walk, away from cars and traffic. Please note that in summer, parking is subject to a fee and pets are not allowed. Restaurants are located directly on the beach, and mattresses and cabins can be rented.
Paracou Beach
Situated between dunes and forest, Paracou beach is a wild cove emblematic of the Vendée coastline. Appreciated for its wide, friendly atmosphere, it also attracts water sports enthusiasts. Surfers and paddleboard enthusiasts meet here to enjoy the waves.

The campsite features a water park with two pools, one outdoor and one indoor, heated to 28°C. There are also two paddling pools for younger children (under parental supervision). For complete relaxation, there’s a solarium area for sunbathing by the pool.
There are plenty of activities to keep you entertained at the campsite, and shuttle buses take you to the beaches, as well as a cycle path or a walk in the forest.
